Overview

Johnson BioPhysics® combines structural analysis, full-spine adjustment and corrective exercise to rebuild the spine the way it's meant to look.

Quick takeaway

A modern, biomechanics-driven approach to restoring the spine's natural curves.

What it does

Here's what most patients notice from johnson biophysics® technique — outcomes vary by case, but these are the consistent themes we see in the clinic.

  • Long-term postural correction
  • Measurable structural change
  • Combines well with decompression

How it works

Dr. Sam is a specialist in Johnson BioPhysics® and uses the technique to deliver lasting structural results — not just temporary relief.

In-depth guide to Johnson BioPhysics® Technique

Chiropractor analyzing patient posture and spinal alignment for Johnson BioPhysics® correction

Johnson BioPhysics® Technique is the structural-correction system developed by Dr. Gregory Johnson at the Chiropractic & Spinal Trauma Center in Houston, Texas, where the Ring Dinger® maneuver also originated. The technique was developed over decades of clinical practice with severe trauma cases — patients with significant spinal injuries who needed not just symptom relief but actual structural restoration of the spine. Today it is used by certified providers worldwide for patients who want lasting correction rather than ongoing symptomatic care. Dr. Sam Sangha completed Johnson BioPhysics® training under the Johnson family directly and uses the technique extensively at our Ontario, CA clinic.

The premise of Johnson BioPhysics® is simple but profound: the human spine has specific, measurable, optimal shapes when viewed from the front and from the side. From the front, a healthy spine is straight from skull to sacrum, with the head centered over the pelvis. From the side, the cervical spine has a gentle forward curve (lordosis), the thoracic spine has a gentle backward curve (kyphosis), and the lumbar spine has another forward curve. When these curves are present and properly proportioned, the spine handles load efficiently, the discs are loaded evenly, and the surrounding musculature works at minimum effort. When the curves are lost, reversed, or distorted, every aspect of spinal function suffers.

The most common postural distortion seen in modern patients is forward head posture — the head shifted forward of the shoulders, often combined with loss of cervical lordosis (a 'military neck' or even a reversed cervical curve). For every inch the head shifts forward of neutral, the load on the cervical spine and supporting musculature roughly doubles. Patients with significant forward head posture often present with chronic neck and upper back tension, headaches, jaw issues, shoulder dysfunction, and the kind of fatigue that sets in by mid-afternoon. No amount of symptomatic care will fully resolve these problems if the underlying postural distortion is not corrected.

Johnson BioPhysics® addresses these patterns through a combination of structural assessment, specific full-spine adjustments designed to restore curve and alignment, and prescriptive home exercise. The assessment includes posture analysis, motion testing, and when indicated, postural radiographs that allow precise measurement of curves and alignment. The adjustments are designed not just to restore segmental motion but to pull the spine progressively back toward its optimal shape. The home exercises — typically simple, low-time-commitment movements — reinforce the in-office work between visits.

What makes Johnson BioPhysics® particularly valuable is that it produces measurable, objective change. Unlike purely symptomatic care, where the only metric is whether the patient feels better, structural correction can be tracked with repeat posture analysis and (when appropriate) follow-up imaging. Patients can see the actual change in their spine over time, not just take their word that the work is helping. For long-term wellness patients, athletes, and anyone who wants their spine to last a lifetime, this kind of measurable structural work is invaluable.

The technique combines naturally with the Ring Dinger® full-spine decompression maneuver, which is itself a Johnson BioPhysics® procedure. Many patients receive a Ring Dinger® at the end of each Johnson BioPhysics® visit, providing immediate decompression on top of the longer-term structural work. The combination produces both immediate symptom relief and lasting structural improvement, which is unusual and powerful.

Care plans for structural correction are longer than for purely symptomatic care, but the goals are different. A typical structural plan involves an intensive corrective phase — often two to three visits per week for two to three months — followed by a tapering reinforcement phase as the new postural pattern stabilizes, and finally a low-frequency maintenance phase. The total time investment is meaningful, but for patients who want their spine actually fixed rather than indefinitely managed, it is the most efficient path available.

Patients travel from across the Inland Empire and Greater Los Angeles area specifically for Johnson BioPhysics® care, which is not widely available outside of certified providers. New patient evaluations are $300 and include a detailed discussion of whether structural correction is the right path for your specific case; follow-ups are $200. If you have been told that your posture is the underlying cause of your chronic pain — or you have looked in the mirror and known it for years — this is the work that actually addresses it.

Johnson BioPhysics® is a specific, certified system — not a marketing label. Dr. Sam completed the certification directly under the Johnson family and applies the technique with the structural focus it was designed for: postural restoration, sagittal-curve correction, and full-spine decompression. Patients seeking this specific approach often travel from across Southern California for it, because few clinicians in the region are certified and actively practicing the protocol.

To schedule a Johnson BioPhysics® consultation, call (909) 529-1179. Bring any prior postural or spinal imaging so Dr. Sam can review curves before treatment. The clinic is at 1155 S. Milliken Ave, Suite J, Ontario, CA 91761 — free parking, quick access from the 10, 60, 15, and 71. New-patient evaluation is $300 (includes the first treatment session), follow-ups $200; HSA/FSA, debit, and credit accepted.
